If you use an LPG gas cylinder at home, this update is important for you. The government has asked LPG consumers to complete their e-KYC.
According to reports, customers who fail to do so by August 16 may face problems while booking gas cylinders and accessing other LPG-related services.
If you have not completed your e-KYC yet, it is better to do it now instead of waiting until the last minute.
Why Is LPG e-KYC Important?
A nationwide e-KYC campaign is currently being carried out for LPG consumers. Gas agencies are informing customers through SMS, phone calls, and notices.
If your e-KYC is not completed by August 16, your LPG records may not be updated. This could lead to issues with cylinder bookings, subsidy-related services, and other benefits linked to your gas connection.
Who Should Complete LPG e-KYC?
You should complete your LPG e-KYC if:
You have not updated your LPG connection details for a long time.
You recently changed your mobile number, address, or other personal details.
Your gas agency has sent you an SMS or called you asking for e-KYC.
How to Complete LPG e-KYC Offline
The easiest way is to visit your nearest gas agency.
Carry your Aadhaar card and LPG consumer details. The agency staff will verify your information and may use biometric authentication (fingerprint) to complete the process. Once verified, your LPG records will be updated.
How to Complete LPG e-KYC Online
You can also complete e-KYC through the official website or mobile app of your LPG provider such as Indane, Bharat Gas, or HP Gas.
Go to the e-KYC/KYC Update section, enter your LPG consumer number, registered mobile number, and Aadhaar number. If OTP verification is available, enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked or registered mobile number to complete the process.
Documents You May Need
Keep these documents ready before starting the e-KYC process:
Aadhaar card
LPG consumer number or gas passbook
Aadhaar-linked mobile number
Identity proof (if requested)
Address proof (if required)
If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, update it first to avoid OTP verification issues.
Important Things to Remember
Complete your LPG e-KYC before August 16 to avoid any service disruption.
Do not wait until the final day, as gas agencies may be crowded. Always use the official website, mobile app, or your gas agency for the process.
Never share your OTP, Aadhaar number, or bank details with anyone. After completing e-KYC, make sure to confirm that your details have been successfully updated.
