IndiGo Issues Travel Advisory for Passengers

IndiGo said flight operations to and from Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Tirupati were affected by adverse weather conditions.

The airline also reported operational disruptions in Visakhapatnam and cautioned passengers that they could face longer waiting times both on the ground and onboard.

The airline said affected customers were being informed through the mobile numbers provided at the time of booking.

It asked passengers to check the latest flight status on its official website before proceeding to the airport.

The airline also said its crew members and ground teams were working to assist passengers during the disruption.

Cyclone Murasu Expected to Make Landfall on November 3

The India Meteorological Department has forecast that severe cyclonic storm Murasu will cross the south Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Narsapur, close to Ongole.

The expected landfall window is from around 11:30 pm on November 2 to 4 am on November 3.

The storm is expected to bring sustained wind speeds of 100–110 kmph, with gusts reaching 120 kmph.

Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is also forecast in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring areas.

Heavy rain has already affected Chennai and nearby districts, prompting weather warnings and precautionary measures.

Authorities in the affected states are monitoring the situation and preparing for possible disruption to transport and public services.

 What Should Air Passengers Do?

Passengers travelling through Chennai, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Tirupati should check their flight status directly with the airline before starting their journey.

Travellers should also monitor SMS and email notifications for schedule changes, cancellations or revised departure information.

Those whose flights have been cancelled should contact the airline through its official customer-support channels to understand the available options.

As cyclone conditions can change quickly, flight schedules may be revised further depending on weather and airport operations.
