Southern Railway will operate two special Express services between Rameswaram and Chennai Egmore. Train number 06104 will depart from Rameswaram at 8:15 pm on November 5, 2026, and reach Chennai Egmore at 11 am the next day.

The return service, train number 06103, will leave Chennai Egmore at 12:30 am on November 7 and arrive at Rameswaram at 3:50 pm on the same day.

The trains will stop at several stations, including Mandapam, Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Manamadurai, Sivaganga, Karaikudi, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Karaikal, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Villupuram, Chengalpattu and Tambaram.

The services will have 18 coaches. These include AC First Class, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches, along with luggage-cum-brake vans.

Tambaram–Tenkasi Special Train Timings

Another special service will connect Tambaram with Tenkasi. Train number 06049 will operate on November 7, leaving Tambaram at 5 am and reaching Tenkasi at 4:45 pm on the same day.

For the return journey, train number 06050 will run from Sengottai to Tambaram on November 9. It will depart from Sengottai at 3 pm and reach Tambaram at 3:20 am the following day.

The trains will halt at stations including Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil and Tenkasi.

The coach arrangement will include four AC Chair Car coaches, 17 Chair Car coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.

Bengaluru–Thoothukudi Special Train Schedule

A special train service will also connect Bengaluru Cantonment and Thoothukudi, offering another option for passengers travelling between Karnataka and southern Tamil Nadu.

Train number 06533 will leave Bengaluru Cantonment at 9:45 pm on November 6 and reach Thoothukudi at 12:30 pm on November 7.

The return service, train number 06534, will depart from Thoothukudi at 3:30 pm on November 7 and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 5:30 am on November 8.

The trains will stop at Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti and Tirunelveli in both directions.

What Passengers Should Check Before Travelling

The additional services are intended to provide more capacity during the busy festive travel period.

Passengers travelling to visit family or reach destinations along these routes may find the special trains useful when regular services are crowded.

Before making travel plans, passengers should verify the latest schedule, station stoppages, coach details and seat availability through official railway channels.

Train timings and operational information should be checked again close to the journey date in case of any changes.
