HDFC Bank has announced that its Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service will be temporarily unavailable for two days due to necessary system maintenance.
The UPI service will be shut down from midnight to 2:00 AM on November 5 and again from midnight to 3:00 AM on November 23.
During these times, customers will not be able to make any financial or non-financial UPI transactions using HDFC Bank current and savings accounts or RuPay credit cards.
This outage will also impact several platforms, including the HDFC mobile banking app, Google Pay, WhatsApp Pay, Paytm, Shriram Finance, Mobikwik, and Credit Pay.
Understanding UPI and How to Manage Transactions
What is UPI?
UPI, or Unified Payment Interface, is a smartphone-based service that allows users to easily send and receive money using a unique UPI ID.
Where to View UPI Transactions?
Customers can check their transaction history by going to the ‘Transaction History’ tab under ‘UPI Payments’ in NetBanking. This information is also available in the bank statement.
What to Do If a UPI Transaction Fails?
If a UPI transaction fails, it may be due to an incorrect UPI PIN or insufficient funds in the account. Make sure to check your account balance before making a transaction.
Who Can Use UPI?
Anyone with an active bank account, a linked mobile number, and a debit or credit card can use UPI for transactions.
What If I Uninstall the HDFC Mobile Banking App?
If you uninstall the HDFC mobile banking app, you will need to re-bind your device to access your UPI ID when you reinstall the app.
Customers are advised to avoid making UPI transactions during the scheduled maintenance times to prevent any inconvenience.
