Jio BlackRock Mutual Fund launches Aladdin Platform in India

Jio BlackRock Mutual Fund, which received its asset management license from SEBI in May 2025, has introduced BlackRock’s well-known investment analytics and risk management platform, Aladdin, in India.

Jio BlackRock Asset Management Private Limited is a 50:50 joint venture between Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL) and US-based BlackRock.

In a social media post, the company said, “Investing should be simple and it should work for you. This belief has brought Jio Financial Services and BlackRock together.”

The post also stated, “We’ve combined Jio’s digital-first approach with BlackRock’s global investment expertise to create solutions tailored to Indian investors.

For the first time, BlackRock’s unique investment analytics and risk management platform, Aladdin, is now available in India.”

The company added, “This is just the beginning. We aim to redefine investing by making it accessible and affordable. We are Jio BlackRock Mutual Fund.”

Regulatory Approvals and Company Formation

SEBI granted a Certificate of Registration to Jio BlackRock Mutual Fund on May 26, 2025, and also approved Jio BlackRock Asset Management Private Limited to operate as the asset management company.

Earlier, on October 29, 2024, the company had announced the incorporation of two entities — Jio BlackRock Asset Management Private Limited and Jio BlackRock Trustee Private Limited — to run the mutual fund business, pending regulatory clearance.

On June 11, Jio Financial Services informed stock exchanges that SEBI has also granted a Certificate of Registration to Jio BlackRock Investment Advisors Private Limited (JBIAPL) to act as an investment advisor.

Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL) is a financial services company offering loans, savings accounts, UPI payments, recharges, digital insurance, financial tracking tools, and more through the JioFinance app.

The company was originally incorporated on July 22, 1999, as Reliance Strategic Investments Private Limited.
Its name was changed to Reliance Strategic Investments Limited on January 14, 2002.

Later, after a merger plan with Reliance Industries Limited, the company was renamed Jio Financial Services Limited, with the new certificate issued on July 25, 2023.

JFSL has been listed on the BSE and NSE since August 21, 2023.
