After Christmas on December 25, banks will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, December 26, in certain cities.
Banks in Aizawl, Kohima, and Shillong will not operate due to local Christmas celebrations.
Both public and private bank branches in these cities will remain closed, while banks in other parts of the country will function normally.
Even though the branches are closed, UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs will continue to operate.
Customers can make online transactions, pay bills, and withdraw cash from ATMs.
However, in-person branch services will have to wait until banks reopen.

Why RBI Declares Bank Holidays
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) designates certain holidays for banks based on religious events, local festivals, and regional observances.
Some examples this December include:
Christmas and Christmas Eve
Local festivals like Losong/Namsung
Death anniversaries of notable figures
State-specific observances and New Year’s Eve
These holidays ensure that branch operations align with local customs and regional requirements while digital banking services remain uninterrupted.
