HDFC Bank has introduced important changes to the reward points system for its Infinia metal credit card.
These updates clearly define how often and how much value cardholders can redeem each month, making the rules more transparent.
The new rules come into effect from February 1, 2026.

Reward Points Redemption Limit Increased
Earlier, reports suggested that reward point redemptions were capped at three times per month.
HDFC Bank has now officially confirmed that Infinia cardholders can redeem reward points up to five times in a month.
However, while the redemption limits have been revised, the reward points earning structure remains unchanged.
How Many Reward Points Can You Earn?
Infinia metal cardholders continue to earn 5 reward points for every ₹150 spent, subject to standard terms and conditions.
Using HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy platform allows customers to earn much higher rewards.
On eligible transactions, reward points can go up to 10 times the regular earning rate, making SmartBuy especially useful for frequent spenders.
Monthly Caps on Reward Point Redemptions
HDFC Bank has placed multiple limits on how much value can be redeemed each month:
Maximum redemption value per statement cycle: ₹2 lakh
Monthly cap for flights, hotels, and air miles: ₹1.5 lakh
Redemption against statement balance: 50,000 reward points per month
For purchases like Apple products and Tanishq vouchers, customers can redeem reward points for up to 70% of the total bill value. T
he remaining amount must be paid using the Infinia credit card.
Reward Point Value: Where You Get the Best Returns
The value of each reward point depends on how it is used:
Apple products and Tanishq vouchers (via SmartBuy): ₹1 per point
Flights and hotel bookings: ₹1 per point
Air miles conversion: Up to 1 air mile per point
Other products and vouchers: Up to ₹0.5 per point
Cashback against statement balance: Up to ₹0.3 per point
Important Points Cardholders Should Remember
Reward points will expire if the card is not used for 365 days.
Regular usage is necessary to keep the points active.
Separately, HDFC Bank has also revised lounge access rules for certain debit cards.
From January 10, eligible customers who meet the quarterly spending requirement of ₹10,000 will receive a link via SMS and email to claim their lounge access voucher.
These updates aim to make reward usage clearer while encouraging smart spending through HDFC Bank’s platforms.
