YES Bank has announced some important changes for its credit card customers. According to the bank, these new rules will come into effect from April 1, 2026.
The changes mainly relate to utility bill payments, transportation expenses, and adding money to digital wallets.
The bank has clarified that the fee rates have not changed. The 1% charge plus GST will remain the same.
However, the spending limits for several categories have been increased, which means customers can now spend more before the charges apply.

New Limits for Utility Bill Payments
New spending limits will apply to payments for utility bills such as electricity, water, and gas. If the spending crosses the allowed limit in a single billing cycle, a 1% charge plus GST will be applied on the extra amount.
The new limits are:
YES Private Credit Card: Up to ₹1 lakh
Premium cards (Marquee, Reserve): Up to ₹50,000
Other YES Bank credit cards: Up to ₹25,000
If customers spend more than these limits, the extra amount will be charged accordingly.
Toll and Bridge Payments Now Called Transportation Fees
Transactions related to tolls and bridges will now appear on credit card statements under the name “transportation fees.”
If the monthly spending in this category goes above the set limit, customers will have to pay a 1% charge plus GST.
The new limits are:
Premium cards: Up to ₹75,000
Other cards: Up to ₹50,000
However, the maximum charge on any single transaction will be limited to ₹5,000.
Charges for Adding Money to Digital Wallets
The bank has also introduced rules for customers who add money to third-party digital wallets using a credit card.
No charge for transactions up to ₹2,000
1% charge plus GST if the amount is more than ₹2,000
The maximum charge per transaction will be capped at ₹5,000.
What These Changes Mean for Customers
These changes could benefit credit card users in some ways. Since the limits for utility and transportation expenses have been increased, customers can now make larger payments without paying extra charges.
However, if spending goes beyond the new limits, the same 1% charge plus GST will apply. Because of this, customers should keep track of their spending while using their credit cards.
