Banking Now Available on Feature Phones
With the BOB World Lite app, users can now enjoy basic banking services directly on their feature phones. This includes UPI payments, money transfers, bill payments, and more.
The app is built to work smoothly even on slow internet connections and simple keypad devices. This means millions of users who don’t own smartphones can now easily access digital banking.
Easy Access and Simple Setup
The app will come pre-installed on the JioPhone Prima 4G, making it easy for users to start using it right away. Existing JioPhone users can download it from the JioStore.
It is not limited to Bank of Baroda customers. Users from other banks can also register on the app through a simple process and start using its services.
A Big Step Towards Digital India
This initiative supports the vision of the Reserve Bank of India and the government to promote digital payments across the country.
According to Bank of Baroda’s MD and CEO Debdutt Chand, this move will help provide secure and simple banking services to a large number of feature phone users.
Sunil Dutt from Reliance Jio also said that the company aims to make digital services affordable and accessible to every Indian.
Boost for Rural and Semi-Urban Areas
With Jio’s wide digital network and Bank of Baroda’s large customer base, this partnership is expected to expand banking services in rural and semi-urban areas.
Overall, this initiative could play a key role in bridging the digital gap and bringing more people into the digital banking system.
