Punjab National Bank (PNB) has introduced a new loan scheme called PNB Divyang Loan to support persons with disabilities.

The scheme offers affordable home and vehicle loans and has been launched in partnership with the National Disability Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC).

The initiative aims to improve financial independence, mobility, and access to housing for people with disabilities through concessional financing options.

Home Loans Up to ₹50 Lakh and Affordable Vehicle Finance

Under the PNB Divyang Loan scheme, eligible applicants can get a home loan of up to ₹50 lakh.

The loan can be used for purchasing a house, constructing a new home, renovating an existing property, or for composite housing needs.

The scheme also provides vehicle loans at concessional rates. Customers can avail:

Up to ₹50 lakh for modified four-wheelers

Up to ₹1.50 lakh for modified two-wheelers

These loans are intended to improve mobility, employment opportunities, and overall financial independence.

PNB has clarified that the combined maximum loan limit for home and vehicle loans is ₹50 lakh per customer.

Interest Rates Start at Just 5%

One of the biggest highlights of the scheme is its affordable pricing. Interest rates start from 5% per annum, and the rate is offered regardless of the borrower’s credit score (CIC score).

The scheme also comes with 100% refinance support from NDFDC, making it easier for the bank to provide concessional financing.

Speaking about the launch, Subodh Kumar, General Manager of PNB’s Retail Asset Business Division, said that the bank wants financial inclusion to go beyond basic banking access and focus on respect, empowerment, and meaningful opportunities for every section of society.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the PNB Divyang Loan scheme, applicants must:

Be an Indian citizen

Be at least 21 years old

Have 40% or more disability

Possess a valid UDID card or UDID enrolment registration

Customers can apply through PNB branches across India.

A Step Towards Inclusive Banking

PNB said the scheme supports the Government of India’s vision of inclusive development and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities.

By offering subsidized interest rates and easier access to formal credit, the bank aims to make institutional finance more accessible to those who have often faced difficulties in obtaining such support.

The new scheme further strengthens PNB’s commitment to inclusive banking, social responsibility, and greater financial participation for persons with disabilities.
