It will start levying a fuel surcharge of Rs 399 on every domestic flight ticket from March 12.
This will be levied on flight tickets of both Air India and Air India Express.
Amid tensions in the Middle East, there has been a steep rise in the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).
This has resulted in an increase in the operating costs of airlines.
Keeping this in mind, Air India has taken this latest step.
The airline group said that this surcharge will be implemented in phases on domestic and international routes.
This has happened due to the steep rise in jet fuel prices linked to the geopolitical situation in the Gulf region
