As September 2025 is approaching, people are already checking the list of bank holidays.
This month, banks will remain closed for 15 days in total. Out of these, 9 holidays are due to festivals, while the rest are weekly offs.
Major festivals like Onam, Navratri, and Eid are falling in September, which has increased the number of holidays for banks.
???? Important note: Customers need not worry. Services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs will continue to work even during holidays.
Only services related to physical banking such as check clearance and branch-related work will be paused.
Festival and Regional Bank Holidays
September 3 (Tuesday): Karma Puja – Banks closed in Ranchi.
September 4 (Wednesday): First Onam – Banks closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
September 5 (Thursday): Eid-e-Milad, Milad-un-Nabi, Thiruvonam, Ganesh Chaturthi, Indrajatra – Banks closed in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and other cities.
September 6 (Friday): Indrajatra – Banks closed in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur, and Srinagar.
September 12 (Thursday): Day after Eid-e-Milad – Banks closed in Jaipur, Jammu, and Srinagar.
September 22 (Monday): Navratri Sthapana – Banks closed in Jaipur.
September 23 (Tuesday): Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji – Banks closed in Jaipur.
September 29 (Monday): Maha Saptami/Durga Puja – Banks closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Jaipur, and Kolkata.
September 30 (Tuesday): Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja – Banks closed in Agartala, Ranchi, Kolkata, Patna, Bhubaneswar, and other cities.
