Banks across India will be closed for nearly 19 days in December 2025.
The holidays are listed under the RBI’s Holiday Calendar and fall under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
This means the holidays vary from one state to another depending on regional festivals and observances.
However, one holiday will be common nationwide.
All banks across the country will remain closed on December 25 for Christmas.
Digital banking services like UPI, net banking, and mobile apps will continue to work normally.
But anyone who needs physical bank services such as cheque clearance, demand drafts, or locker access should plan ahead to avoid delays.
