Millions of Farmers Removed After Verification
The government has also updated the beneficiary list after verifying the data of farmers.
During this process, many names were removed because they did not meet the eligibility rules of the scheme.
According to official data, around 1.12 crore farmers have been removed from the beneficiary list in the past few installments.
For example, during the 11th installment (April–July 2022), about 10.48 crore farmers received the benefit.
However, by the 21st installment (August–November 2025), this number dropped to around 9.35 crore farmers.
Officials said that during verification, several cases fell under the scheme’s exclusion criteria, so those names were removed from the list.
e-KYC Is Mandatory to Receive the Installment
The government has made e-KYC compulsory for farmers who want to receive benefits under the PM-Kisan scheme.
Farmers who have not completed e-KYC may face problems receiving their installment.
The process can be completed through OTP on the official PM-Kisan portal.
If OTP verification does not work or there are technical issues, farmers can complete biometric e-KYC by visiting the nearest Common Service Center.
How Farmers Can Check Their Name in the Beneficiary List
Farmers can easily check whether their name is on the list online.
First, visit the official PM-Kisan website. Then go to the “Beneficiary List” section and enter details such as state, district, block, and village.
After submitting the information, the list of beneficiaries in that village will appear on the screen.
Farmers can also check their payment status by entering their Aadhaar number, bank account number, or mobile number in the “Beneficiary Status” section.
What Is the PM-Kisan Scheme?
The PM-Kisan scheme was launched in 2019 by the Government of India.
Under this scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 every year as financial assistance.
The money is sent directly to their bank accounts in three installments of ₹2,000 each.
The main aim of the scheme is to support small and marginal farmers by helping them manage farming expenses and improve their financial condition.
Farmers are advised to complete their e-KYC and check their bank and Aadhaar details to make sure they receive the 22nd installment on time.
