Following bilateral talks in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin made several key announcements.
India has launched a free e-visa facility for Russian citizens, which will be processed within 30 days. This initiative aims to boost tourism and strengthen India-Russia relations.
Prime Minister Modi said at a joint press conference that India will soon offer e-tourist visas and group tourist visas for Russian citizens. These visas will not have any processing fees and will be approved within 30 days.
The PM stated, “I am delighted that we will soon launch e-tourist visa and group tourist visa services for Russian citizens. This process will be completed within 30 days and will be completely free.”
Vision 2030 and Economic Cooperation
During the meeting, both leaders released the Vision 2030 document, outlining plans to enhance trade, investment, technology, and economic cooperation over the next decade.
Prime Minister Modi said this document will create new business opportunities and strengthen preparations for the India-Russia Business Forum.
He added, “We have signed the Vision 2030 document to advance economic cooperation.
I am confident that this platform will strengthen our trade ties and open new avenues for co-production and co-innovation.
Both countries are also taking new steps to realize a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Eurasian Economic Union.”
Strengthening Strategic Partnership
President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Modi, and the people of India for the warm welcome.
He emphasized that his close interactions with Modi continue to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Putin said, “The conversation with Prime Minister Modi during the dinner was very useful for our special and privileged strategic partnership. We also met at the SCO summit and we both personally monitor the Russia-India dialogue.”
