Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has introduced the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024 to support financially weaker children.
This initiative aims to assist students who need financial help to continue their education. The last date to apply for this scholarship is 22 December 2024. Here’s a closer look at the scheme and its benefits.
Eligibility and Scholarship Types
This scholarship is designed for students from economically disadvantaged families. To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
1) The applicant must be from India and have passed the 10th, 12th, or a diploma-equivalent exam with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24.
2) The student should have enrolled in the first year of any course for the academic year 2024-25.
The scholarship is divided into two categories: General Scholarship and Special Scholarship for Girls.
General Scholarship: This covers students pursuing courses in medical, engineering, vocational training, and ITI from government colleges.
Special Scholarship for Girls: This is specifically for girls who are studying intermediate or diploma courses after the 10th grade, such as ITI or Polytechnic.
Amount of Scholarship
General Scholarship
1) Students pursuing medical education will receive Rs 40,000 per year.
2) Students in the engineering field (like B.Tech) will get Rs 30,000 per year.
3) Students enrolled in vocational courses or ITI from government colleges will receive Rs 20,000 or Rs 10,000 annually, depending on the course.
Special Scholarship for Girls
1) Girls pursuing diploma courses after 10th, such as ITI or Polytechnic, will receive Rs 15,000. This will be paid in two installments of Rs 7,500 each for two years.
