The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has introduced a big improvement for property owners when it comes to property tax.
They are taking various steps to make property tax collection more efficient and transparent.
A key feature of this improvement is the ability for property owners to generate their Unique Property Identification Code (UPIC) in just two minutes.
This will help in quickly identifying properties and make the tax recovery process more transparent.
Benefits of the New Digital System
MCD has launched an online facility for merging and transferring UPICs. From April 1, 2024, till now, MCD has processed 671 UPIC transfer requests successfully.
This new system allows property owners in Delhi to easily access property details, including their UPIC, through digital platforms. Additionally, a chatbot has been introduced to assist property owners immediately.
The MCD’s digital system also enables the electronic issuance of all notices related to property tax, including those under Section 175 of the DMC Act (Amendment) 2003.
Property owners can now view and comment on these notices online, without needing to visit the property tax office.
To help people understand and use these online property tax services, MCD has also created a YouTube channel to explain the new facilities.
