Zomato launches Bistro App for Quick Food Delivery

Zomato’s quick commerce unit, Blinkit, has launched a new app called Bistro for delivering snacks and other food items in just 10 minutes.

This move is expected to create stiff competition for Zepto Cafe, which recently announced plans to introduce a separate app for its food delivery business.

The launch of Bistro was reported by Moneycontrol. On Friday, Zomato’s shares were trading at Rs 286.50 on the BSE.

Zomato’s Second Attempt at 10-Minute Food Delivery

Bistro marks Zomato’s second venture into 10-minute food delivery, following the earlier launch of Zomato Instant. Companies in the quick commerce space, like Blinkit and Zepto, have rapidly expanded over the past three years.

Initially focusing on grocery delivery, they have now ventured into delivering apparel, medicines, and ready-made food. Bistro, Zepto Cafe,

and Swiggy Bolt offer items like samosas, sandwiches, coffee, and pastries. Currently, the Bistro app is available on Android’s Play Store but not on Apple’s App Store.

Zomato Shares Surge by 138% in a Year

Zomato shares have shown impressive growth, rising 138% in the past year. On December 13, 2023, Zomato’s shares were priced at Rs 120, and by December 13, 2024, they had climbed to Rs 286.50.

Over the last six months, the shares have increased by about 55%, up from Rs 184.90 on June 13, 2024. So far this year, Zomato shares have risen by 130%, reaching a 52-week high of Rs 304.50, while the 52-week low was Rs 116.
