If you are a customer of Punjab National Bank (PNB), this is important news for you. The bank has issued a warning saying that some accounts may be closed soon. This warning is not for all customers, but only for specific ones.

PNB shared this information on its official social media account. According to the notice, customers must visit their bank branch and complete their KYC process before April 15, 2026.

If the KYC is not completed by this date, the bank will close the account starting from April 16, 2026.

Which Accounts Will Be Closed?

Punjab National Bank has clearly stated that accounts will be closed if:

There have been no transactions in the account for the last 3 years, and

The account balance is zero (0)

Customers with such accounts must visit their nearest branch and complete their KYC before April 15, 2026. If they fail to do so, their accounts will be closed from April 16, 2026, without any further notice.

For more details, customers are advised to contact or visit their nearest bank branch.

What Is an Inactive Account?

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), an inactive (or inoperative) account is a savings or current account that has had no “customer-initiated transactions” for more than two years.

So, if your PNB account has not had any transactions for the past three years, you must:

Visit your bank branch

Submit the required documents

Complete the KYC process

If you do not complete this process and reactivate your account by April 15, 2026, your account will be closed from April 16, 2026.
