The government has resumed refunds for investors of Sahara Group’s cooperative societies, offering relief to depositors whose funds have been stuck for years.

The process is now online, following Supreme Court directions, ensuring transparency and faster disbursal.

Who Can Claim and How

Only investors who deposited money in the following four Sahara cooperative societies are eligible:

Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.

Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd.

Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.

Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.

The refund process is handled through the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal, allowing investors to complete the entire claim digitally.

To file a claim, investors need to:

Register on the portal using an Aadhaar-linked mobile number

Enter claim details and upload documents such as Aadhaar, bank account information, and proof of investment (deposit certificates or passbooks)

Submit the application online

For higher claim amounts, PAN details may also be required.

Verification and Refund Process

After submission, claims are verified.

If approved, the refund is directly credited to the bank account, usually within a few weeks.

If a claim is rejected or incomplete, applicants can correct errors and resubmit through the same portal.

The resumption of refunds is a significant step for Sahara investors, but successful claims depend on accurate information and proper documentation.
