Why Does SBI Shut Services at Night?
SBI regularly carries out technical upgrades to improve the speed, security, and overall performance of its digital platforms.
Such temporary outages are part of routine maintenance.
The goal is to make online banking safer and more reliable for millions of customers.
So while the 30-minute break may cause minor inconvenience, it helps strengthen the system in the long run.
SBI’s Profit Jumps 24.5% in Q3
Along with this update, SBI recently announced its third-quarter results for FY26.
The bank reported a strong 24.5% year-on-year rise in profit.
Net profit for the October–December quarter stood at Rs 21,028.15 crore, compared to Rs 16,891.44 crore in the same quarter last year.
In the previous quarter (Q2 FY26), the bank had posted a profit of Rs 20,159.67 crore.
SBI’s Net Interest Income (NII) also grew by 9% year-on-year to Rs 45,190 crore, up from Rs 41,446 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
The strong financial performance shows that while services may pause briefly for upgrades, the bank continues to grow steadily.
