The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new Aadhaar mobile app for both Android and iOS users.
This upgraded app makes it easier and safer for residents to carry their Aadhaar on their phones instead of keeping a physical card.
The app is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
What Is the New Aadhaar App?
According to UIDAI, the new Aadhaar app is a modern digital identity platform designed to give citizens secure access to their Aadhaar details anytime, anywhere.
With this app, you can verify your identity without showing a physical Aadhaar card or handing over photocopies to service providers.
The app works on both Android and iOS devices and brings more control, convenience, and privacy to the user.
How to Download and Register
The Aadhaar app is free to download.
Setting it up takes only a few minutes:
Open the app and select your preferred language.
Register using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number or another number.
If you use a different number, extra
verification steps may be required.
Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and verify it with the OTP sent via SMS.
Next, complete facial authentication. Make sure you are in a well-lit space and remove spectacles if needed.
Create a six-digit password that you will use to log into the app.
Once registered, you will be directed to the home screen where you can view your Aadhaar, share it digitally, and enable added security features.
