Six Mainboard IPOs opened for subscription on September 9, 2026, creating a rare moment in India’s primary market. Six mainboard public issues opening on the same day has happened for the first time in nearly 30 years.

The six companies are looking to raise a combined amount of approximately ₹4,509 crore, making September 9 an unusually busy day for IPO investors.

Six Mainboard IPOs Hit the Market Together

The six companies opening their IPOs on Wednesday are Rentomojo, Asset Reconstruction Company (India), Manipal Payment & Identity Solutions, Steamhouse India, LCC Projects and Karamtara Engineering.

These companies operate across different sectors, giving investors several public issues to consider at the same time.

Rentomojo operates in the furniture and household goods rental business, while the other companies have businesses spanning areas including finance, payments and engineering.

Companies Aim to Raise Around ₹4,509 Crore

Together, the six companies are looking to raise approximately ₹4,509 crore through their public issues.

The scale of fundraising is significantly larger than nearly three decades ago. When six IPOs opened on October 14, 1996, the companies collectively sought to raise approximately ₹22 crore.

The IPO calendar is busy throughout the week as well. A total of 12 mainboard IPOs are scheduled between September 7 and September 11, targeting combined fundraising of approximately ₹7,180 crore.

Similar IPO Rush Was Seen in 1996

The previous instance of six IPOs opening on the same day was October 14, 1996.

Later that month, on October 28, 1996, seven IPOs opened in a single day.

This makes September 9, 2026, a notable date for India’s primary market, with Six Mainboard IPOs arriving together after nearly three decades.

IPO Market Activity Picks Up

IPO activity was relatively slower earlier in the year, but corporate fundraising has now gained momentum.

For investors, several IPOs opening simultaneously provide more choices across different businesses.

However, each issue needs to be assessed separately based on factors such as its business model, financial position, valuation, risks and issue details.

With several public issues scheduled during the week, India’s primary market is set to remain active in the coming days.
