The revision covers 63 Aavin products, while the price of regular milk remains unchanged, according to reports.

The price changes come ahead of the Diwali festive season, when demand for ghee, butter and traditional sweets typically rises.

Aavin has cited higher raw material costs, milk procurement expenses and other operating costs as reasons for revising the prices.

Aavin Dairy Products Price Hike: What Changes?

The biggest change affects Aavin ghee. The price of a one-litre pack is increasing from ₹700 to ₹780, an increase of ₹80.

Smaller packs are also becoming more expensive, adding to the cost for households that regularly use ghee for cooking and preparing sweets.

Here are some of the key revised prices reported for Aavin products:

Ghee, 100 ml: ₹80 to ₹95

Ghee, 200 ml: ₹160 to ₹180

Ghee, 500 ml: ₹365 to ₹400

Ghee, one litre: ₹700 to ₹780

Butter, 100 grams: ₹60 to ₹70

Milkshake, 200 ml: ₹30 to ₹35

Curd, 500 ml: ₹35 to ₹40

Mysore pak, 250 grams: ₹140 to ₹160

The revised prices vary by product type and pack size.

Customers should check the latest price printed on the package or displayed at the outlet before purchasing.

Why Are Aavin Product Prices Increasing?

Aavin, Tamil Nadu’s cooperative dairy brand, sells a range of products, including ghee, butter, curd, buttermilk, milkshakes, milk-based sweets, biscuits and savoury snacks.

The reported price revision is linked to higher procurement and production expenses.

Changes in the cost of raw materials and other operating expenses have contributed to the decision to increase prices across several product categories.

The increase does not apply uniformly to every product. The amount varies according to the item and its packaging, while regular milk prices are reported to remain unchanged.

How Will the New Prices Affect Household Budgets?

The revised rates could increase spending for families that regularly buy Aavin dairy products.

For example, someone purchasing one litre of ghee every month will pay ₹80 more per purchase than before the revision.

The effect may be more noticeable during the festive season.

Families preparing sweets at home or buying packaged products for celebrations may need to account for higher ghee, butter and sweet prices in their budgets.

For instance, purchasing five 250-gram packs of Mysore pak would cost ₹100 more at the revised price than at the earlier rate of ₹140 per pack.

The actual increase in a household’s monthly spending will depend on the products and quantities purchased.

What Should Customers Know Before Buying?

The new prices are scheduled to take effect on October 28, 2026.

Consumers should compare the revised rates with their usual purchases and check pack sizes carefully, particularly when buying larger quantities for festivals.

Customers can also ask Aavin retailers to confirm the latest rates for individual products, as different varieties and packaging sizes have different prices.

Comparing prices is most useful when the products have the same weight or volume and are of the same type.

The Aavin Dairy Products Price Hike affects a wide range of value-added dairy products, but regular milk is reported to be excluded from this revision.

Households can plan their purchases around the new rates and check the updated price list before shopping.
