The state government has amended the Public Service Promotion Rules, 2003. With this change, the government is planning to tighten its rules regarding promotions.

Every officer is required to report their assets to the government every year. While some officers follow this requirement, many do not, which has become a matter of concern for the government.

Requirement of Property Statements for the Last 5 Years

Due to this issue, the General Administration Department has updated the promotion rules.

The amendment states that administrative departments must submit annual statements of immovable property for the past five years to the Departmental Promotion Committee.

These statements must clearly show whether the government servant being considered for promotion has submitted their property details or not.

Promotion Will Be Kept Pending if Statements Are Missing

According to the revised Chhattisgarh Promotion Rules, the cases of government servants who have not submitted complete annual immovable property statements for the last five years will be kept pending.

Their promotion will only be considered by the Departmental Promotion Committee after all five years’ statements are received.
