These opportunities will be open to graduates holding degrees like BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, and Integrated MSc. Eligible candidates can come from computer science
and IT backgrounds, as well as select branches such as Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).
Salary Structure for Different Roles
Infosys has clearly defined salary packages based on the level and role offered. The highest package of up to ₹21 lakh per annum is for the role of Specialist Programmer L3 (Trainee). Other salary details include:
Specialist Programmer L2 (Trainee): ₹16 LPA
Specialist Programmer L1 (Trainee): ₹11 LPA
Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee): ₹7 LPA
This structured pay scale highlights the company’s focus on rewarding specialized skills and advanced technical expertise.
Focus on AI-First Strategy
Infosys Group Chief Human Resources Officer Shaji Mathew explained that the company is adopting an AI-first approach across all its service lines.
This strategy has increased the need to both upskill the existing workforce and recruit fresh talent with strong digital and AI-related skills.
As a result, Infosys is expanding its Specialist Programmer track and offering significantly higher compensation to attract top talent.
Hiring Plans and Fresher Intake
Infosys hires early-career professionals through both campus and off-campus channels.
The company has already hired 12,000 freshers in the first half of FY26 and is on track to achieve its target of hiring 20,000 freshers during the financial year.
Low entry-level salaries in IT companies have long been a topic of debate, especially when compared to the high pay of senior executives and CEOs.
With this move, Infosys appears to be addressing some of these concerns by offering competitive pay packages to freshers with specialized skills, setting a new benchmark in the Indian IT industry.
