The Haryana government has made major changes to the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana, a scheme aimed at empowering women.

The decision was approved at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

One of the biggest changes is the increase in the annual family income limit to ₹1.80 lakh, which allows more women to become eligible.

Now, mothers from various categories can benefit, including:

Mothers of students scoring above 80% in grades 10th or 12th in government schools.

Mothers of children achieving grade-level competency in grades 1 to 4 under the NIPUN Bharat Mission.

Mothers who have successfully freed their children from severe or moderate malnutrition.

However, mothers with more than three children will not be eligible for the scheme.

Eligibility will be verified using the Family Information Data Repository.

How the Financial Assistance Works

The scheme is part of the government’s vision of Developed India 2047, aiming to go beyond simple cash transfers and encourage long-term savings.

Eligible women will receive ₹2,100 every month.

From the second month onwards, the payment will be split into two parts:

₹1,100 will go directly into the woman’s savings account.

₹1,000 will be deposited into a government-managed RD or FD, which can be claimed upon maturity.

The maximum tenure for the deposit is 5 years.

This approach not only provides immediate financial support but also encourages long-term savings and financial security for women.

More Than 10 Lakh Women Benefiting

Chief Minister Saini highlighted that these changes will strengthen the scheme and promote women’s financial empowerment.

Launched on September 25, 2025, the scheme targets economically disadvantaged women aged 23 to 60.

In just under a year, more than 1 million women have registered.

By linking eligibility to education, nutrition, and social development, the scheme is set to give a new direction to women’s welfare in Haryana.
