The weather on 2 March 2026 may affect Holi celebrations in many parts of India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain may start from the night of 3 March in four North Indian states. Strong dust storms and winds are also expected.

Because of rain, temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in some areas. However, during the next 5 days, maximum temperatures in Northwest India may rise by 3 to 5°C. In Central India, temperatures may increase by 2 to 4°C and then remain stable for the next two days.

From the night of 4 March 2026, a new western disturbance may affect the Western Himalayan region.

IMD also expects above-normal rainfall in many parts of the country in March. However, some areas of Northeast India and parts of Northwest and East-Central India may receive below-normal rainfall.


Rain Warning in These 4 States

  • From 4 to 7 March, light rain and snowfall are possible in Jammu and Kashmir.

  • From 2 to 3 March, heavy rain and strong winds (20–30 km/h) are likely in Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.

  • On 4 and 5 March, hot and humid weather is likely in parts of Goa and the Konkan region.

  • From 4 to 7 March, Gujarat may also experience hot and humid conditions.


Weather in Delhi

In Delhi, heat will increase from 2 March. The maximum temperature may rise by 1 to 2°C. Strong winds are expected during the day.

  • Maximum temperature: 31°C

  • Minimum temperature: 17°C
    There is no rain warning for the next three days.


Weather in Uttar Pradesh

Weather in Uttar Pradesh may change from 2 March. Rain with strong winds (20–30 km/h) is likely, but rainfall will not be very heavy.

In some districts, temperature may reach 35°C. These districts include Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Amethi, Baghpat, Bahraich, Ballia, Balrampur, Banda, Barabanki, Basti, Etawah, Faizabad, Hamirpur, Mainpuri, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad and Sitapur.


Weather in Bihar

In Bihar, the weather will remain clear on Holi. There is no rain warning. However, heat will increase.

Districts where temperature may rise include Patna, Buxar, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Araria, Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, Begusarai, Katihar and Khagaria.

In Patna:

  • Maximum temperature: 31°C

  • Minimum temperature: 17°C


Weather in Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, weather will stay clear on Holi. No rain is expected till 6 March. The weather will remain dry, with mild cold in the morning and evening.

Temperatures may fall in Nainital, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Champawat.

In Dehradun:

  • Maximum temperature: 24°C

  • Minimum temperature: 11°C


Weather in Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh, a western disturbance may become active from 4 March. This may change the weather.

Light rain is possible around Manali. Heat may increase in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra.

In Manali:

  • Maximum temperature: 2°C

  • Minimum temperature: -9°C


Weather in Jammu & Kashmir

From 4 to 7 March, light to moderate rain is possible in some districts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Reasi, Kathua and Anantnag.

In Srinagar:

  • Maximum temperature: 15°C

  • Minimum temperature: 2°C


Weather in Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, weather will remain clear on 2 March. No rain warning has been issued.

During Holi, winds may blow at 15–20 km/h. Mornings may feel slightly cold.

Temperatures may rise in Jaipur, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Sikar, Jodhpur and Ajmer.

In Jaipur:

  • Maximum temperature: 32°C

  • Minimum temperature: 18°C


Weather in Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, no rain is expected on 2 March. Moderate winds will continue till Holi. Temperatures may rise in districts like Gwalior, Katni, Vidisha, Morena, Bhind, Ashoknagar, Dhar and Burhanpur.

Weather in the Last 24 Hours

In Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi and Bihar, maximum temperatures were 4 to 8°C above normal.

In Northern Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal, temperatures were 2 to 3°C above normal.

In Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, interior Maharashtra and remaining parts of Odisha, temperatures ranged between 32°C to 35°C.

In Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, temperatures ranged between 34°C to 35°C.
