If you want to add the shine of silver to your investment portfolio, Mirae Asset Investment Managers has introduced a new investment option. The company has launched the Mirae Asset Silver ETF Fund of Funds (FOF).
This is an open-ended mutual fund scheme that mainly invests in units of the Mirae Asset Silver ETF. It provides an easy way for investors to invest in silver without the need to buy or store physical silver.
NFO Dates and Investment Details
The New Fund Offer (NFO) for the Mirae Asset Silver ETF Fund of Funds opened for subscription on March 5, 2026, and will remain open until March 18, 2026.
If someone misses this initial period, the scheme will reopen for transactions starting March 25, 2026.
The minimum investment during the NFO period is ₹5,000, and any additional investment can be made in multiples of ₹1.
The fund will be managed by experienced fund managers Ritesh Patel and Akshay Udeshi.
Why Silver Can Be an Attractive Investment
Silver is not only used for jewelry or coins. It is considered a hybrid asset, meaning it has both investment value and industrial use.
Like gold, silver is often seen as a safe-haven asset, but it also has strong demand from different industries.
Today, silver is widely used in electronics, solar energy, and electric vehicles. According to Mirae Asset, the demand for silver is closely connected to global economic trends and technological development.
In 2026, silver prices may fluctuate due to factors such as industrial demand, interest rates, and geopolitical developments, which could create opportunities for this fund.
Risks and Expert View
Siddharth Srivastava, ETF Product Head at Mirae Asset, said that this fund provides a structured and systematic way to invest in silver.
However, he also warned that commodity prices can be volatile and are often affected by global events.
Since this scheme follows a fund of funds (FOF) structure, investors should understand that there may be additional expenses apart from the ETF’s own costs.
This scheme is mainly suitable for investors who want to diversify their portfolio and invest in silver for the long term.
