Indian Railways has introduced its first internal Android-based mobile app to monitor train punctuality and delays.

The new app, called Punctuality BZA, has been developed by the Vijayawada division of the South Coast Railway (SCoR).

The app has been designed to help railway officials track train movements and identify delays quickly, making train operations more efficient.

No More Repeated OTP Verification

According to a report by The Indian Express, Vijayawada Division PRO Nusrat M. Mandrupkar said that the new mobile app allows railway officials and controllers to monitor train movements from anywhere.

Earlier, officials had to rely on desktop-based systems and the traditional ICMS web portal, which required navigating multiple pages

and entering OTPs repeatedly. The new app removes these difficulties and provides a much smoother experience.

Automatic Alerts for Trains Delayed by More Than 15 Minutes

The Punctuality BZA app combines all important train operation data into a single dashboard. Railway officials can access several features, including:

Section-wise train status

Late Train Monitoring (LTM)

Punctuality Assessment Module (PAM) statistics

Automatic notifications for trains delayed by more than 15 minutes

According to railway officials, these real-time alerts will help authorities understand situations faster, make quicker decisions, and take immediate action to improve train punctuality.

Big Relief for Train Managers

The new app has also been integrated with the Late Train Monitoring (LTM BZA) system, an internal tool used for managing train operation records.

This integration allows train managers and railway officials to access delay information and train movement data instantly, helping them respond more effectively to operational problems.

Real-Time Data Will Improve Passenger Services

Vijayawada Division DRM Mohit Sonakia said that the Punctuality BZA app will provide railway officials with real-time operational data, enabling faster intervention and better decision-making.

He added that the new system will also allow field staff to spend more time focusing on passenger services and railway safety, while improving the overall punctuality of train operations.
