The Ministry of Labour and Employment has said Aadhaar authentication is required under Section 142 of the Code on Social Security, 2020.

Beneficiaries are therefore being asked to complete Aadhaar authentication and seed their Aadhaar details with their ESIC records.

The new requirement is aimed at Aadhaar-based identification and authentication of ESIC beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment announced the requirement through its official communication.
Beneficiaries should complete the Aadhaar-seeding process through the official ESIC portal using their insured-person credentials.
The process involves Aadhaar authentication through an OTP sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.
After submitting the request, beneficiaries receive a reference number for the authentication process.
How to Link Aadhaar With ESIC Pehchan Card
To seed Aadhaar, beneficiaries need to visit the official ESIC website and select the section for insured persons and beneficiaries.
After logging in with their user ID and password, they need to select the Aadhaar Seeding for IP option.
The beneficiary can then find their name and select the option to seed Aadhaar.
The next step requires entering the Aadhaar number and completing authentication using the OTP sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
A reference number is generated after the request is submitted.
Who Needs to Complete ESIC Aadhaar Authentication?
The requirement applies to ESIC beneficiaries covered under the social security scheme.
ESIC provides medical and social security benefits to eligible employees and their families working in establishments covered by the scheme.
The wage ceiling for general employees covered under ESIC is generally Rs 21,000 per month, while the limit is Rs 25,000 per month for persons with disabilities, subject to applicable rules.
Beneficiaries should complete the authentication through the official ESIC system and keep the acknowledgement or reference number for future use.
