Bank Holiday Next Week will affect customers in several parts of India as SBI, HDFC Bank and other lenders are scheduled to remain closed on different days between September 14 and September 20, 2026.
The closures are based on regional festivals and regular weekly holidays.

Bank Holiday Next Week Brings Regional Closures
September 14 will see bank closures in several cities because of Ganesh Chaturthi and other regional observances.
Cities including Mumbai, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai are among those affected by the holiday schedule.
The next day, September 15, will also bring closures in selected locations because of regional festivals. Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar and Panaji are among the cities listed for a bank holiday on this date.
Since bank holidays are decided according to the Reserve Bank of India’s location-wise calendar, a holiday in one city does not necessarily mean that branches across the country will be closed.
SBI and HDFC Bank Customers Should Check City-Wise List
Customers of SBI, HDFC Bank and other lenders should check their particular city’s holiday schedule before planning branch-related work.
The holiday calendar applies to banking operations at branches, so customers who need to deposit documents, complete certain KYC-related work or carry out other branch-based services may need to plan ahead.
The closures do not mean that every banking service will stop. Digital facilities generally remain available even when physical branches are shut.
Online Banking and UPI Services Can Still Work
Customers can continue using services such as UPI, mobile banking and internet banking during bank holidays.

September 20 falls on a Sunday, which is a regular bank holiday across India.
