Bank Holidays list in December 2025

December is the last month of the year, and during this month, banks will be closed for 18 days due to festivals and weekly holidays.

Out of these, six days are weekly offs that apply to all states. The remaining holidays will vary depending on state-specific festivals.

Apart from Christmas, many local festivals in different states will also lead to bank closures in December 2025.

If you need to deposit a cheque, issue a draft, open a new account, finish loan-related work, or complete any other important banking task, it is helpful to check the holiday list in advance. This will help you plan your work smoothly and avoid inconvenience.

Complete List of Bank Holidays in December 2025

December 1, Monday – Indigenous Faith Day (Arunachal Pradesh)
Banks will be closed in Arunachal Pradesh for this cultural festival.

December 3, Wednesday – Feast of St. Francis Xavier (Goa)
A major religious festival celebrated by many people in Goa.

December 12, Friday – Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma Day (Meghalaya)
Holiday in Meghalaya in memory of an important historical figure.

December 18, Thursday – Guru Ghasidas Jayanti (Chhattisgarh)
U Soso Tham’s Death Anniversary (Meghalaya)

December 19, Friday – Goa Liberation Day (Goa)
Marks the liberation of Goa in 1961.

December 24, Wednesday – Christmas Eve (Meghalaya, Mizoram)
Banks remain closed in many areas due to Christmas preparations.

December 25, Thursday – Christmas (Holiday in most states)
One of the biggest festivals in India.
Banks will be closed in Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and many other states.

December 26, Friday – Christmas Celebrations (Meghalaya, Mizoram, Telangana)
Martyr Udham Singh’s Birth Anniversary (Haryana)

December 27, Saturday – Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti (Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh)

December 30 – U Kiang Nangbah Day (Meghalaya)
Tamu Losar (Sikkim)

December 31, Wednesday – New Year (Mizoram, Manipur)
Banks will be closed in some states to welcome the New Year.
