If you are planning to visit a bank branch, it is important to first check whether banks in your city are open. Going to the bank without checking the holiday schedule may lead to inconvenience.

Banks to Remain Closed on January 16

Banking services will be affected in some areas on January 16. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bank holiday list, banks have been declared closed in certain states on this day.

Therefore, before visiting a bank branch on January 16, make sure to confirm whether banks in your location are open or closed. This will help you save time and avoid unnecessary trouble.

Bank Holiday in Tamil Nadu

Banks in Tamil Nadu will remain closed on January 16. According to the RBI holiday list, all bank branches across the state will be shut on this day.

People living in Tamil Nadu who have important banking work are advised to plan their visits on another day.

The reason for the holiday is Thiruvalluvar Day, which is observed on January 16 in Tamil Nadu. This day is celebrated in honor of the great Tamil saint and poet Thiruvalluvar.

Due to this occasion, the RBI has declared a bank holiday in the state. Banks in all other states will remain open as usual on January 16.

Online Banking Services Will Continue

Although bank branches will be closed in Tamil Nadu, online banking services will continue to function normally. Customers will not face any disruption in digital services.

Facilities such as UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs will remain available.

Customers can easily transfer money, check account balances, pay bills, and complete other digital transactions without any issues. However, services that require visiting a bank branch will not be available on this day.
