The new 14-inch notebook combines an aluminium body, Intel Core Series 3 processors, AI-focused hardware and a claimed battery life of up to 21 hours of video streaming.

Positioned below Dell’s flagship XPS range, the 14S is designed for people who want a portable laptop with a premium look without moving into a much higher price segment.

It is available in four colour options: Linen, Dusty Rose, Washed Denim and Velvet Green.

Dell 14S Laptop Price and Availability in India

The Dell 14S starts at Rs 79,990 in India. Buyers can choose from configurations powered by Intel Core 5 320 and Intel Core 7 350 Series 3 processors.

The laptop is available through Dell’s official online store. The Linen colour option is also available through Dell Exclusive Stores, large-format retail outlets and e-commerce platforms.

The other three colours are expected to reach these retail channels by the end of November 2026.

Introductory offers include eligible credit-card discounts of up to Rs 10,000, along with zero-down-payment and zero-interest financing options, subject to the applicable terms.

Customers can also purchase one-year Accidental Damage Protection for Rs 499.

Five Reasons to Consider the Dell 14S

 Lightweight aluminium design

The Dell 14S has an aluminium chassis measuring approximately 13.5mm in thickness and weighs around 1.15kg in its starting configuration.

This makes it suitable for students and professionals who regularly carry their laptops between home, college and office.

Its four colour choices also offer an alternative to the conventional silver and black finishes commonly seen in laptops.

Intel Core processors with AI capabilities

The laptop is powered by Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350 Series 3 processors. Both options include a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to support compatible on-device AI workloads.

The Core 5 configuration offers up to 16 TOPS of NPU performance, while the Core 7 version delivers up to 17 TOPS. These capabilities can support selected AI-assisted tasks, although actual performance will depend on the application and workload.

Two display options, including a 2.8K panel

Dell offers two display configurations for the 14-inch screen, which uses a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The standard option has a 2K resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate and 300 nits of brightness. The higher-end option offers 2.8K resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and brightness of up to 450 nits.

The higher-resolution panel may appeal to people who spend considerable time editing content, viewing videos or working with multiple windows. Buyers should check the exact display configuration before purchasing.

Battery life designed for long use

The Dell 14S packs a 61.2Wh battery. Dell claims that it can provide up to 21 hours of Netflix video streaming on a single charge.

The laptop also supports USB Type-C charging through a 65W power adapter. The claimed battery figure is based on video playback conditions, so real-world battery life may vary depending on screen brightness, applications, connectivity and workload.

Useful ports and everyday connectivity

Unlike some thin laptops that rely heavily on adapters, the Dell 14S retains a practical selection of connectivity options.

It includes two USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with DisplayPort and power delivery support, an HDMI port and a 3.5mm universal audio jack. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

The laptop also features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a 2-megapixel camera and dual-array microphones.

These features make it suitable for video meetings, online classes and everyday entertainment.

Who Should Buy the Dell 14S?

The Dell 14S could be worth considering for five types of buyers:

College students and young professionals may appreciate its lightweight design, portable size and starting price below Rs 80,000.

Frequent travellers and daily commuters may find the claimed battery life and USB Type-C charging useful when working away from a desk.

Content creators and regular video viewers may prefer configurations with the 2.8K, 120Hz display.

The higher-end panel is also listed with 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, which may benefit colour-focused work.

Remote and hybrid professionals can make use of the dedicated keyboard shortcuts for microphone mute, voice dictation, screenshots and Microsoft Copilot.

Users who frequently connect external devices may value the laptop’s broader port selection, including USB Type-C, standard USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm audio jack.

What to Check Before Buying the Dell 14S

Although the starting price is Rs 79,990, buyers should compare the processor, RAM, storage and display configuration of the specific model they intend to purchase.

Features such as the 2.8K screen are available only on selected higher-end configurations.

The laptop is offered with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

Buyers should also remember that Dell’s 21-hour battery figure is a company claim based on video playback, not a guarantee of the same runtime during everyday work.

The Dell 14S is positioned as a portable productivity laptop rather than a dedicated gaming machine.

Its integrated graphics are intended for regular computing and compatible creative tasks, so users who need powerful graphics for demanding games or professional 3D workloads may want to compare other options.

Overall, the Dell 14S brings together a lightweight aluminium design, AI-capable processors, a high-refresh display option and practical connectivity.

Whether it offers good value at Rs 79,990 will depend on the configuration a buyer chooses and the features they actually need.
