If you use HDFC Bank credit cards like Regalia Gold or Diners Privilege, this update is important for you. The bank is introducing major changes in reward points and benefits.
These new rules will roll out in phases starting from May 15 and July 1, 2026. One key highlight is that your benefits will now depend more on how much you spend. Simply put, higher spending can unlock better rewards.

Changes in Reward Points System
From May 15, the reward structure for the Regalia Gold card is changing.
Earlier, you earned 4 reward points on every ₹150 spent. Now, you will get 5 points on ₹200 spent. This means the reward rate per ₹100 has slightly decreased.
However, the bank has not changed the extra reward benefits available in select categories, so those perks will continue.
New Charges You Should Know
There are also some fee-related changes.
The Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) charge on international transactions has been increased to 1.75%. This will make foreign transactions slightly more expensive.
In addition, if your card is lost or damaged, getting a replacement will now cost ₹199.
Lounge Access Now Linked to Spending
Starting July 1, airport lounge access rules will change significantly.
For Regalia Gold users, free domestic lounge visits will no longer be automatic. You must spend ₹60,000 in a quarter to get 3 complimentary visits.
The good part is that international lounge access remains unchanged. You can still use 6 free visits per year through Priority Pass without any spending condition.
The same rules will apply to Diners Privilege cardholders. They will receive lounge access through vouchers, which must be generated via the Smart Buy platform.
New ‘Travel Edge’ Benefits Introduced
To add more value, HDFC Bank has launched a new program called Travel Edge for Regalia Gold users.
Under this program, you can enjoy two travel-related benefits every quarter. These include:
Up to ₹750 discount on Uber rides
Spa services
Hotel buffet offers
Room upgrades
However, to claim these benefits, you will need to upload your boarding pass.
Overall, these changes focus more on rewarding active spenders. If you regularly use your card, you can still make the most of these benefits by planning your expenses smartly.
