If you are preparing for a government bank job, here’s an important update.

Punjab & Sind Bank has announced recruitment for 1,000 posts of Local Bank Officer (LBO).

The notification was released on March 30, 2026, and the application process started from March 31, 2026.

The last date to apply is April 20, 2026, so candidates should complete the process on time.

Eligibility and Important Dates

To apply for this post, candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age.

This means applicants should be born between March 2, 1996, and March 1, 2006.

Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per rules.

Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.

Along with this, at least 18 months of experience as an officer in a bank or regional rural bank is required.

Application Fee and Vacancy Details

The application fee depends on the category.

General, OBC, and EWS candidates need to pay ₹850.

For SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates, the fee is ₹100.

A total of 1,000 vacancies will be filled across India.

Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of posts with 200 vacancies.

Gujarat has 125 posts, and Punjab has 100.

Other states also have openings in smaller numbers.

Salary and Benefits

This job offers a good salary and benefits.

Selected candidates will get a salary between ₹48,480 and ₹85,920 under the JMGS-I scale.

They will also receive three increments at the time of joining.

Apart from salary, benefits like dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical facilities, and travel allowance will also be provided.

This makes the job both stable and financially rewarding.

Selection Process and How to Apply

The selection process will have multiple stages.

First, there will be an online written exam of 120 marks, lasting 2 hours.

The exam will include questions from English, banking, general knowledge, and computer knowledge.

After that, candidates will face an interview and a local language test.

The final merit list will be prepared with 70% weightage to the written exam and 30% to the interview.

To apply, candidates need to visit the official website of the bank, register themselves, fill out the form, upload required documents, pay the fee, and submit the application.

It is also important to take a printout for future use.
