October 1 changes bring several important updates that can affect household expenses, banking costs and purchases. From commercial LPG prices and fixed deposits to electronics, commercial vehicles, ATM charges
and LPG subsidy rules, customers should know what has changed from October 1, 2026.
These changes do not affect everyone in the same way. Some apply to specific customers, while others may increase costs for businesses or people planning major purchases.
October 1 Changes in Commercial LPG Prices
The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased from October 1. In Delhi, the price has gone up by ₹62.50 to ₹2,810 per cylinder.
The increase can raise operating costs for hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other businesses that use commercial LPG. However, the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged.
October 1 Changes in Fixed Deposit Rules
Fixed deposit customers also need to be aware of changes taking effect from October 1. Under revised RBI guidelines, the limits applicable to bulk fixed deposits and their associated interest rates have been changed.
These changes are particularly relevant for customers and institutions dealing with large deposits. Investors should check the applicable terms with their bank before making a new large fixed deposit.
Electronics and Vehicle Prices Go Up
Festive-season shoppers may have to spend more on some electronic products. Changes in input costs and customs duty have led some companies to revise prices of products such as televisions and air conditioners.
The actual increase depends on the company and product. LG, for example, has increased air conditioner prices by 5% to 7% from October 1.
Tata Motors has also increased prices of its commercial vehicles by 1%. The revised prices are effective from October 1, 2026, meaning buyers purchasing new commercial vehicles may have to pay more.
SBI ATM Charges and LPG e-KYC
SBI customers also need to keep track of ATM transactions. Service charges applicable to cash withdrawals and non-financial transactions beyond the prescribed free transaction limit have been revised.
Customers who frequently use ATMs should check their applicable free transaction limits and charges to avoid unexpected fees.
LPG subsidy beneficiaries also need to pay attention to Aadhaar-based biometric e-KYC requirements. Customers who do not complete the required e-KYC may face an impact on their subsidy benefits.
These October 1 changes make it important for consumers to review their LPG subsidy status, banking transactions and planned purchases while managing their monthly budgets.
