IndiGo has introduced a new economy class fare option called IndiGo Lite, designed especially for passengers who travel with only cabin baggage.
This new fare gives travelers more flexibility by allowing them to pay only for the services they actually use.
The new fare option is expected to benefit passengers who prefer short trips and want to avoid paying extra charges for checked luggage.

Bookings to Begin From July 1
Bookings for the new IndiGo Lite fare will open from July 1, 2026. Initially, this fare will be available only through IndiGo’s direct booking channels, including the airline’s official website, mobile app, and customer support center.
At present, passengers will not be able to book IndiGo Lite tickets through third-party travel websites or booking platforms.
Travel Under This Fare Starts From July 15
Passengers who book under the IndiGo Lite category will be able to travel starting from July 15, 2026. This creates a gap of around two weeks between the launch of bookings and the commencement of travel.
The airline says this new fare option has been introduced to offer customers greater control over their travel expenses.
Available on Domestic and International Routes
The IndiGo Lite fare will be available on both domestic and international non-stop flights. Passengers can choose this option for one-way, round-trip, and multi-city bookings.
The fare category will be applicable to both adult and child passengers.
Why Is IndiGo Launching This New Fare?
IndiGo has been expanding its fare options to cater to different types of travelers. Earlier, the airline introduced categories such as Saver, Flexi, and Upfront fares.
With the launch of IndiGo Lite, the airline is targeting passengers who travel light and do not want to spend extra money on checked baggage.
This new option could be especially useful for business travelers, weekend travelers, and passengers taking short trips.
