Good news has come from Mumbai. The state government is making the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) faster and easier for patients who need financial help for treatment.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will soon launch a new online system. This system is designed to ensure that patients get financial support without delays.

Approval in Just 8 Hours
One of the biggest changes is the approval speed. Earlier, CMRF applications took several days to process. Now, approvals will be completed within just 8 hours.
This means patients in critical condition will not have to wait long for financial help. Faster approval can lead to quicker treatment, which can save lives.
No More Running Around for Documents
The new system will also make the application process much simpler.
Patients and their families will no longer need to visit multiple offices. Instead, hospitals will handle everything. They will collect documents, prepare the application, and send it directly to the CMRF office.
This hospital-based system will reduce stress for families during difficult times.
Faster Treatment, More Support
The government believes this digital system will remove delays in treatment and provide immediate financial assistance, especially to poor and needy patients.
According to official data, around ₹333 crore was given to 40,776 patients between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026. With the new system, this support is expected to reach people even faster.
What Officials Are Saying
Rameshwar Naik, head of the relief fund, said the main goal is to ensure timely treatment for patients. He added that the new system will speed up approvals and bring major relief to people.
The government plans to launch this system soon across Maharashtra. Once implemented, it could bring hope and faster medical support to millions of patients in the state.
