has launched a new electric scooter called the TVS Orbiter V1 in the Indian market.

The company says this is its most affordable electric scooter so far.

The scooter is designed especially for daily city commuters and comes with a 1.8kWh battery.

TVS has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which allows buyers to purchase the scooter at a lower price and pay separately for the battery through a monthly plan.

Price of TVS Orbiter V1

The starting price of the TVS Orbiter V1 is ₹49,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi) under the BaaS model.

In this plan, the battery cost is not included in the scooter’s initial price.

If customers want to buy the scooter with the battery included, the price is around ₹84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The company also offers an extended battery warranty with this model to provide additional peace of mind for buyers.

Battery, Range and Charging

The Orbiter series comes with two battery options. The V1 variant has a 1.8kWh battery, while the V2 variant offers a 3.1kWh battery pack.

According to the company, the V1 model can deliver a range of up to 86 km on a single charge.

Charging is also fairly quick. The battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

The scooter also includes features like mobile app connectivity, an LED headlight, and an LCD display.

Comfortable Design and Large Storage

The scooter has been designed to make daily rides comfortable.

It comes with a long 845mm seat, which can easily accommodate two riders.

The 290mm flat footboard provides enough legroom for comfortable riding.

The Orbiter V1 also offers 34 liters of under-seat storage, which is large enough to store two helmets.

Smart Features and Technology

The scooter includes several modern smart features.

It offers safety tools such as geo-fencing, anti-theft alerts, and crash or fall alerts.

Through the mobile app, users can also check battery status and odometer details.

Other useful features include hill hold, cruise control, parking assist, and two riding modes – Eco and Power.

EMI and Battery Subscription Plan

TVS’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model allows customers to buy the scooter at a lower upfront cost.

Under this plan, the battery can be paid for through monthly EMIs starting at around ₹862.

The company also provides a 5-year or 70,000 km warranty with this battery service plan.

Rivals in the Electric Scooter Market

In the Indian market, the TVS Orbiter V1 will compete with other popular electric scooters such as the Ola S1 X, Bajaj Chetak 3001, Hero Vida VX2, and Ather Rizta.

With its lower starting price and battery subscription option, the new scooter aims to attract buyers looking for an affordable electric vehicle for everyday use.
