There is big news for people planning to buy an electric car

Vietnamese EV company VinFast has announced a major offer that can significantly reduce your running costs.

The company has extended its free charging program for customers in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines till March 31, 2029.

This means if you buy a VinFast electric vehicle, you may not have to spend anything on charging for the next few years.

Free Charging Till 2029: What You Get

Under this new offer:

All VinFast EV owners in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines will get free charging

The benefit will continue till March 31, 2029

Charging will be available on the company’s V-Green network

Both new and existing customers can use this facility

This step is aimed at encouraging people to shift from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric vehicles by reducing running costs.

Who Will Benefit the Most?

This offer is not just for personal car buyers.

It will help a wide range of users, including:

Private car owners

Commercial drivers like taxi operators

Drivers connected to Green SM

For people who earn through driving, this can be a big advantage as their fuel expenses will almost disappear.

‘Trade Gas for Electric’ Offer Explained

VinFast’s parent company Vingroup has also launched a special campaign called “Trade Gas for Electric.”

Here’s what it offers:

3% discount when you exchange an old petrol/diesel vehicle for an EV

5% discount on electric scooters

Valid from March 11 to March 31, 2026

Can be combined with other offers for extra savings

GreenForAll Program for Extra Savings

Another initiative called “GreenForAll” has also been launched.

Users of Green SM Taxi in Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam get a 10% discount

Valid from March 11 to March 31, 2026

The goal is to make electric mobility more attractive and affordable for more people.

Why This Move Matters

One of the biggest concerns with electric vehicles is charging cost and availability

VinFast is trying to solve both problems:

Free charging means almost zero running cost

A growing charging network reduces range anxiety

Makes switching to EVs much easier and practical

Expanding Charging Network

VinFast’s charging network, operated by V-Green, is growing quickly:

More charging stations

Better accessibility

Less worry for EV users

This expansion makes owning an EV more convenient than before.

Extra Benefits for Customers

VinFast is not stopping at free charging. The company is also offering:

Battery subscription plans (lower upfront cost)

Resale value guarantee

Easy EMI and payment options

Long warranty

VinFast’s Big Plans in India

VinFast is also investing heavily in India:

New plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu

Investment of around $500 million

Annual production capacity of 1.5 lakh vehicles

Around 3,500 jobs to be created

Final Thoughts

VinFast’s latest move could be a game changer in the EV market.

With free charging for years, attractive discounts, and strong infrastructure plans, buying an electric vehicle is becoming more practical than ever.

If you are thinking about switching to an EV, this could be the right time to make the move.
