Pilgrims to Visit Major Sikh Shrines

The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi announced on June 8 that 737 Indian pilgrims have received visas to attend the annual celebrations in Pakistan.

During their visit, pilgrims will pay their respects at several important Sikh religious sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.

These shrines hold great significance for the Sikh community and attract devotees from around the world.

Pakistan Extends Best Wishes to Pilgrims

Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to India, Saad Ahmad Warraich, wished the pilgrims a safe and successful journey.

According to the statement, the issuance of visas is part of Pakistan’s commitment to implementing the 1974 bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, which allows pilgrims from both countries to visit important religious sites.

SGPC Receives Visas for Sikh Pilgrims

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has received visas for 541 Sikh pilgrims who will travel to Pakistan to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

SGPC Dharam Prachar Committee Secretary Gurinder Singh Mathrewal said that the organization had submitted the passports of 561 pilgrims to the Pakistani Embassy in New Delhi. Out of these, 541 pilgrims have been granted visas.

The group will leave for Pakistan on June 10 from the SGPC headquarters.

Mathrewal also advised pilgrims whose visas have been approved to collect their passports from the SGPC office during office hours on June 9.
