IndiGo Riyadh Flights will remain cancelled until October 31, 2026, as the airline extends its suspension amid continuing security concerns in Saudi Arabia.
Flights to and from Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah will also remain suspended until October 27, according to the airline’s latest travel advisory issued on October 23.
The extension affects passengers travelling between India and these Saudi Arabian cities.
IndiGo said it is monitoring developments and coordinating with the relevant authorities, with passenger and crew safety remaining its priority.
IndiGo Extends Flight Cancellations to Four Saudi Cities
Under the updated schedule, flights connecting Riyadh are cancelled through October 31, inclusive. Services to and from Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah are suspended through October 27, inclusive.
The airline had previously announced a shorter cancellation period but extended it after reassessing the evolving security situation.
The latest dates do not guarantee that flights will resume immediately after the suspension ends; operations will depend on further assessments and official clearances.
Why Has IndiGo Suspended Saudi Arabia Flights?
The decision comes amid security concerns following attacks on Saudi Arabian infrastructure, including an incident at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.
Reports said the attack killed an Indian national and injured others, prompting renewed concerns about the safety of air travel in the region
Airlines are reviewing their schedules as the situation develops. IndiGo has said it is coordinating with the relevant authorities before deciding when services can safely resume.
The disruption has also affected other Indian carriers. Air India and Air India Express have extended some Saudi Arabia flight suspensions, while Akasa Air has announced cancellations on affected routes.
Passengers should check the specific airline’s latest advisory because cancellation dates and route coverage may differ.
What Should Affected IndiGo Passengers Do?
Passengers booked on affected flights should check their flight status through IndiGo’s official website before leaving for the airport.
The airline says affected customers are being notified using the contact details provided at the time of booking. Travellers should also monitor their email and phone messages for updates.
If a booking was made through a travel agent or online travel platform, passengers should contact that provider to understand the available options.
They should confirm any refund, rescheduling or rebooking arrangements directly with IndiGo or the booking agent rather than assume that a particular option applies automatically.
Travellers should avoid making airport journeys based only on their original ticket schedule.
A flight shown on an old itinerary may no longer operate during the extended suspension period.
Advice for Indians Travelling to Saudi Arabia
People planning trips to Saudi Arabia, including Umrah pilgrims, should consider the possibility of further changes before finalising travel arrangements.
Those already in the country should follow advisories issued by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General of India in Jeddah.
Indian authorities have been coordinating with airlines and tour operators to assist affected passengers and pilgrims.
Travellers requiring urgent departure may explore alternative routes through neighbouring countries, but they must check flight availability and ensure they have the necessary visas and transit permissions before making plans.
The situation remains subject to change.
Passengers should rely on official airline updates and government advisories for the latest information, and should not assume that services will restart automatically once the current cancellation dates expire.
