The Haryana government is offering free passports for students studying at Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). However, students must meet certain conditions to qualify.
They need to be either permanent residents of Haryana or have passed their 10th grade from the Haryana Board of School Education. Additionally, students must have maintained at least 80% attendance throughout their course.
Steps to Apply for a Free Passport
To apply for the free passport, students must first receive an admit card from their ITI institute, which allows them to sit for the final exam.
This admit card must be submitted along with the passport application form. The respective ITI institute will handle the process, and the passports will be issued at no cost to the students.
Purpose of the Free Passport Scheme
The primary goal of this initiative is to provide skilled students with better job opportunities both within the country and abroad. It also aims to raise awareness about career opportunities outside of India.
By offering free passports, the government makes it easier for skilled students to pursue opportunities abroad and further their careers.
Application Process for the Scheme
According to JP Yadav, the Principal of Girls ITI in Gurgaon Sector-14, the scheme ensures that students do not face any issues when traveling abroad after completing their ITI courses.
The department will cover the Rs 1,500 cost of the passport. Students must fill out the passport application form three months before their final exam to take advantage of this facility.
