The Madhya Pradesh government is planning a major gift for its 1.5 million state employees in the new year.
A new health insurance scheme, modeled on the Ayushman Bharat scheme, is being prepared.
Once launched, employees will be able to access cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for serious and expensive procedures.
This initiative comes after long-standing demands from employee organizations.
Ayushman Bharat-Like Benefits for State Employees
The proposed scheme, named the Chief Minister Ayushman Health Insurance Scheme, will provide cashless treatment across hospitals both within and outside the state.
Employees will contribute a small portion of the treatment cost through salary deductions, while the government will cover the rest.
This will ensure that employees no longer need to pay for treatment themselves, which is a major relief for those currently paying out-of-pocket.
Employee organizations have been requesting cashless treatment facilities for years, and this new scheme is expected to fulfill that long-awaited demand.
The Current System Poses Challenges
At present, employees and their families must pay medical bills upfront.
These bills are later submitted to government offices for reimbursement, a process that is often time-consuming and complicated.
In many cases, employees even need to take loans to cover the cost of serious illnesses.
The new cashless insurance scheme will remove these financial and administrative burdens, providing employees with easier and faster access to healthcare.
