There is big news for crores of farmers across the country.
The government has announced the release date of the next installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
According to official information, Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of PM-Kisan on March 13 during his visit to Guwahati, Assam.
Under this installment, around ₹19,000 crore will be transferred directly to 9.32 crore farmers across India.
This financial support will come just before the sowing of Kharif crops, which will help farmers buy essential farming inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Farmers Get ₹6,000 Every Year Under PM-Kisan
The PM-Kisan scheme was launched by the central government in February 2019 to support farmers financially.
Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 every year from the government.
\The amount is transferred directly to their bank accounts in three installments of ₹2,000 each.
These installments are usually released during the following periods:
February–March
June–July
October
The main aim of the scheme is to reduce farmers’ financial burden and support their agricultural activities.
Previous Installments and Total Amount Transferred
The 21st installment of PM-Kisan was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19 last year.
Since then, millions of farmers have been waiting for the next payment.
According to official data:
19th installment (February 2025): ₹22,000 crore transferred to about 9.8 crore farmers
20th installment (August 2025): ₹20,500 crore transferred to around 9.7 crore farmers
21st installment (November 2025): ₹18,000 crore transferred to nearly 9 crore farmers
So far, the government has transferred around ₹4.09 lakh crore to farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme.
One of the Government’s Largest DBT Schemes
The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi has become one of the government’s biggest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programs for the agriculture sector.
Through this scheme, financial assistance reaches farmers directly in their bank accounts, ensuring transparency and quick support for agricultural needs.
