Summer vacations have started in many parts of Bihar, and people are now planning trips with family and friends.
However, travelers are facing a major problem even before their journey begins. Flight ticket prices from Patna to many big cities have increased sharply.
According to reports, airfares have become nearly 1.5 to 2 times more expensive on several routes during the holiday season.

Chennai Flights See the Biggest Price Jump
Among all destinations, flight tickets from Patna to Chennai have become the most expensive. Prices on this route have increased by almost 2.5 times. At the same time, fares for Pune have gone up by around 2.25 times.
Ticket prices for Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad have also nearly doubled compared to normal days.
One major reason behind the increase is the growing interest in South India tourism during summer vacations.
Why Are More People Traveling to South India?
Many travelers from Bihar are now choosing South Indian destinations for their holidays. Popular places like Marina Beach in Chennai and famous temples from Kanyakumari to Rameshwaram are attracting large numbers of tourists.
Chennai has become an important travel hub because it has direct flight connectivity with Patna. People visiting Kerala’s Kovalam Beach also prefer flying to Chennai first, as it is one of the nearest major airports.
Tourist places in Andhra Pradesh are also seeing more visitors, which has increased demand for flights to Hyderabad.
At the same time, Delhi flights are expensive because many travelers use the capital as a gateway to hill stations such as Nainital, Mussoorie, Shimla, and Dalhousie during the summer season.
