There is good news for people who want to create or update their Aadhaar card in Nainital. The Postal Department has launched a new app that allows users to book Aadhaar appointment slots from home.
With this facility, people no longer need to stand in long queues at Aadhaar centres. They can simply book a slot online through the website or mobile app.
Book Aadhaar Appointments Online
The new app was launched by Senior Postmaster Amit Dutt at the Nainital Head Post Office. It was developed by Postmasters I.K. Das and Shashi Shekhar.
People can book Aadhaar creation and update appointments through the website http://postoffice-aadhar.web.app/. The app is also available on the Google Play Store.
Officials said the app was created to solve the problem of long waiting lines at Aadhaar service centres.
26 Aadhaar Centres Operating in the District
The Postal Department currently runs 26 Aadhaar service centres across the district.
According to officials, around 75,000 Aadhaar cards were issued last year, generating revenue of ₹50 lakh for the department.
This year, the department has already completed around 1.6 lakh Aadhaar-related services and has set a revenue target of ₹2.5 crore.
SMS Alerts for Cancelled Slots
The new system also offers additional convenience for users.
If an Aadhaar creation or update appointment gets cancelled, the applicant will receive an SMS notification. People can also get appointment tokens from home without visiting the centre in advance.
Postal Department officials believe the new app will make Aadhaar services faster, smoother, and more convenient for residents of Nainital.
