If you want to make a good income with a small investment during the festive season, consider starting a bindi making business.

This can be done from a single room in your home using a small machine, eliminating the need for a large office or factory.

Bindis are essential for many married women and girls as part of their makeup and are considered one of the 16 Shringar (beautifications).

Growing Demand for Bindis

The demand for bindis is high and continues to grow. While round bindis were once the only option, today, you can find many shapes and designs available.

This business is not limited to a specific season; it can be run year-round. Bindis are sought after in both cities and villages, making this a great business opportunity.

Investment and Supplies Needed

The bindi market is substantial, with statistics showing that a woman uses about 12 to 14 packets of bindis each year. You can start this business with an investment of around Rs 10,000.

Essential materials include velvet cloth, adhesive glue, crystals, and pearls, all of which can be easily found in the market.

Equipment Required

To begin, you will need a bindi printing machine, a bindi cutter machine, and a gumming machine. Additionally, an electric motor and basic hand tools are required.

If you’re starting small, you can use manual machines and later upgrade to automatic ones as your business expands.

Earning Potential

In terms of earnings, you can save more than 50% in this business. If you market your products effectively, you could earn at least Rs 50,000 every month.

Marketing is crucial; consider supplying your bindis to cosmetic shops, local markets, general stores, malls, supermarkets, and shops near temples.
